Mike Leigh has commenced principal photography in London on Untitled 09, his follow-up to Happy-Go-Lucky.

Focus Features International is handling international sales on the Thin Man Films Simon Channing Williams Production, and is financing the project with the UK Film Council’s Premiere Fund and Film4.

The shoot is scheduled to last nine weeks in London, and stars in alphabetical order Michele Austin, David Bradley, Jim Broadbent, Phil Davis, Karina Fernandez, Oliver Maltman, Lesley Manville, Stuart McQuarrie, Martin Savage, Ruth Sheen, Imelda Staunton and Peter Wight.

Of the cast of twelve, only David Bradley and Stuart McQuarrie are working with Leigh for the first time.

Also rejoining Leigh are many of his regular crew including cinematographer Dick Pope, editor Jon Gregory, casting director Nina Gold, costume designer Jacqueline Durran and hair and make-up supervisor Chrissie Blundell.

Production designer Simon Beresford is on board for the first time. Georgina Lowe is producing and Gail Egan serves as executive producer.
