Europa International, the association and network of European sales agents, has elected Films Boutique’s international sales manager Valeska Neu as its new president.
Neu takes over former co-presidents Alice Lesort of Les Films du Losange and Katarzyna Siniarska of New Europe Film Sales.
She will work along with board members Geremia Biagiotti of Intramovies, Samuel Blanc (The Party Film Sales), Monica Ciarli (Minerva Pictures), Alice Lesort, Katarzyna Siniarska, and Léo Teste (Global Constellation).
Created in 2011, Europa International has 58 members from over 12 European countries.
Europa International members handle almost 70% of the films selected in Cannes this year.
Neu said: “I am deeply honored to take on the role of president at Europa International at such a crucial moment for European film industry. Looking ahead, I am committed to advocate for policies that support the international circulation of European cinema and talents, and meet the upcoming challenges in order to strengthen our collective voice, together with other European associations and institutions.”
Reflecting on this year’s Cannes, she said that “the Marché du Film has been energizing this year, with strong engagement from key buyers and solid business across the board. There’s continued strong interest in theatrical titles, and it’s clear that theatrical is not just holding on — it’s evolving, with the market responding confidently. Cannes continues to be a key moment in the year — it’s where we reconnect, reset, and move deals forward”.
