EXCLUSIVE: Global Constellation has released a first look at Shalini Adnani’s BFI- and Film4-backed debut feature Our Share Of Sand.
It will participate in the BFI and British Council’s online Great 8 showcase of features from early-career UK filmmakers ahead of Cannes.
Maya Mehta, Ellora Torchia and Zeeshan Ayyub star in the film about 12-year-old Maya, who returns to rural India to reconnect with her estranged father.
Adnani was named a Screen UK-Ireland Star of Tomorrow last year, as was Torchia in 2021.
The film is produced by Sara Bonakdar for UK outfit Fifth Mirror Pictures, alongside Heretic’s Giorgos Karnavas and Suitable Pictures’ Alan McAlex as well as Balthazar de Ganay and Michael Graf.
Global Constellation’s Cannes slate includes official selection Midnight Screening Jim Queen, and Directors’ Fortnight animated title Viva Carmen.
