The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on Monday (3) announced the 20 films in the running in for the visual effects category for the 91st Academy Awards.
Among them are First Man, Black Panther, Aquaman, Avengers: Infinity War, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald, Paddington 2, and Mary Poppins.
The Academy’s visual effects branch executive committee determined the preliminary list of films eligible for further awards consideration. Later this month, the committee will select the shortlist of 10 films that will advance to nominations voting.
Nominations for the 91st Academy Awards will be announced on January 22, 2019. The films are listed below in alphabetical order:
