Screen can exclusively reveal the first trailer for Ira Sachs’ Cannes Competition title Frankie.

The film stars Isabelle Huppert as a famous French actress, who after learning she has only months to live, gathers her family for one last holiday in Sintra, Portugal.

Brendan Gleeson, Marisa Tomei, Jérémie Renier, Pascal Greggory, Ariyon Bakare, Vinette Robinson and Greg Kinnear co-star.

Sachs wrote the screenplay with Mauricio Zacharias. Frankie is the director’s Cannes debut and the first time he has shot outside the US.

Sachs’ previous films include The Delta, Sundance Grand Jury prize winner Forty Shades Of Blue and Little Men.

Said Ben Said, who worked with Huppert on Elle, produced the film via his SBS Productions, alongside portuguese outfit O Som e a Fúria and Belgian firm Beluga Tree.

France’s SBS International is handling international rights, with SBS Distribution releasing in France on August 28. Sony Pictures Classics has the film for North America, Eastern Europe (including CIS), Scandinavia, the Middle East, South Africa, Spain, India and for worldwide airlines.
