EXCLUSIVE: Screen can reveal the first trailer for Hanael El Yousfi’s The Daughters Of Abraham ahead of its world premiere in the Discovery section at Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) next month.

The film has inked its first sales deal, to Moving Story Entertainment in Australia and New Zealand. France’s Les Films du Losange handles international sales.

French filmmaker El Yousfi’s feature debut follows a young Muslim woman raised in Marseille as she reconnects with her friend, a young Jewish woman, over the summer break. When a tragedy disrupts their holiday, the pair face the similarities and differences that both strengthen and threaten their relationship.

Melissa Guers and Ava Baya lead the cast, which also includes Gabrielle Cohen, Bilel Chegrani and Syrus Shahidi. The film is produced by Charles Gillibert for his CG Cinema, and France 2 Cinema.
