
Georgia Oakley’s Sense And Sensibility will open in the US through Focus Features on September 11 2026 and in the UK through Universal on September 25 2026.
Focus holds worldwide rights to Working Title’s Jane Austen adaptation starring Daisy Edgar-Jones, Esmé Creed-Miles and George MacKay, with Universal Pictures International handling the rest of the world.
Sense And Sensibility centres on sisters Elinor and Marianne Dashwood as they tackle love, loss and financial uncertainty in 18th-century England. Oakley makes her follow-up to her 2022 Bifa winner and Bafta nominee Blue Jean, and directs from a screenplay by Diana Reid.
The cast includes Caitríona Balfe, Frank Dillane, Herbert Nordrum, Bodhi Rae Breathnach, and Fiona Shaw. Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner are producing alongside India Flint of November Pictures and Jo Wallett of Kiddo Films.
Working Title and Focus adapted Austen’s Pride & Prejudice in 2004 which garnered four Oscar nominations, and collaborated on 2020 release Emma.
Focus Features’ heavyweight awards slate features Chloé Zhao’s Hamnet starring Paul Mescal and Jessie Buckley, and Bugonia, the recent release from Yorgos Lanthimos starring Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons that has earned $30.4m worldwide and $15.7m in North America. Musical Song Sung Blue with Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson arrives on December 25.
