‘The Expert, The Rookie And The Mole’

EXCLUSIVE: France tv distribution has acquired Mathieu Sapin’s The Expert, The Rookie And The Mole (Le Teckel), a satirical romp through the world of pharmaceutical sales starring Franck Dubosc, Daphne Patakia, Chiara Mastroianni, Zabou Breitman and Philippe Katerine.

The company launched the project at Unifrance’s Rendez-Vous with French cinema market in Paris. The film stars Dubosc as a top pharmaceutical sales executive dealing with the aftermath of a scandal at a top laboratory.

He is tasked with restoring the lab’s image and unmasking a mole leaking secrets to the press, but a young and ambitious executive meant to be working by his side (Patakia) is on a secret mission to bring him down.

The film is based on a graphic novel by Herve Bourhis and produced by prolific Paris-based production house Nolita.

Le Pacte is handling its release in France. Sapin wrote the script with Dubosc and Bourhis, alongside Juliette Sales and Fabien Suarez. Sapin previously directed We Need Your Vote ,starring Alexandra Lamy and Finnegan Oldfield in 2018.

The Expert, The Rookie And The Mole blends broad comedy, social satire, and a road-trip dynamic,” said Alexandre Rene and Julia Schulte, France tv distribution’s VP international cinema sales and SVP international sales, respectively. “It’s the kind of film that also questions our relationship to work, success, and social guilt.”
