DreamWorks Studios has signed a first look deal with writer, director and producer John Hamburg.

Hamburg, whose credits include Meet the Parents, Meet the Fockers and I Love You, Man, will give the studio a first look at his theatrical projects as a writer, director or producer over a two year term. He is currently producing the studio’s The Defenders with Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci.

DreamWorks co-chair and CEO Stacey Snider said Hamburg “has a unique voice and can go from idea to movie all on his own. He’s going to be a huge asset to our company.”
