EXCLUSIVE: French sales firm WTFilms has boarded Indonesian martial arts title Ikatan Darah, which it is selling this week at Filmart.
It is produced by Ryan Santoso as the first action title from Uwais Pictures, the production company of The Raid star Iko Uwais, who is an executive producer on the film. WTFilms is representing international rights, for territories excluding Indonesia, Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan and South Korea
Directed by Sidharta Tata from a script Tata wrote with Rifki Ardisha, Ikatan Darah sees a former martial arts athlete face a network of loan sharks to save her younger brother, who is trapped in online gambling debt and risking their family’s safety.
Livi Ciananta, Derby Romero and Ismi Melinda lead the cast. Ikatan Darah had its world premiere at Fantastic Fest in the US last year, before an Asian launch at the Indonesian Screen Awards.
Legacy Pictures and KG Pictures produce with Uwais Pictures; the film will release in Indonesian cinemas from April 30.
Yentonius Jerriel Ho, Yocke Kaseger and Lisbeth Simarmata are all executive producers on the film.
