Emily Cloke, British Consul General in Los Angeles, and the Oscar-nominated cinematographer Roger Deakins hosted an afternoon tea to celebrate this year’s UK Oscar nominees ahead of the Academy Awards last Sunday.

The event, in partnership with Bafta and the British Film Commission, was held at the British Consul General’s residence on Friday (March 10) to honour UK talent involved in this year’s Oscar nominees, including Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, Living, Elvis, The Batman, Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris, Avatar: The Way Of Water, All Quiet On The Western FrontTop Gun: MaverickEmpire Of Light and short films An Irish Goodbye and The Boy, The Mole, The Fox, And The Horse. 

British Film Commission statistics for 2022 show more than £5.37bn spend on film and high-end TV production in the UK – 93% of which involved direct support from the British Film Commission.
