‘Tummy Tom And The Lost Teddybear’

EXCLUSIVE: Amsterdam-based Incredible Film has closed new deals on the first two films in its four- feature cycle of Tummy Tom family animation movies. They are the final projects on which legendary Dutch producer and author Burny Bos worked before his death in late 2023. Bos was behind such hits as Winky’s Horse and Minoes.

The animated hand-drawn films follow the adventures of a mischievous cat first who first appeared in Sesame Street in the late 1970s. Producers are Phanta Film and BosBros.

The first two films, Tummy Tom And The Lost Teddy Bear, and A New Friend For Tummy Tom, have sold to France (KMBO) and Germany (Look At That).

Reverso in Spain and Kino Mediteran for Croatia have taken Tummy Tom And The Lost Teddy Bear.

A New Friend For Tummy Tom has gone to Norway (Storytelling Media), Sweden (Lucky Dogs), Denmark (Angel Film), Future Film (Finland).

Incredible is pre-selling the second two in the market.

The company is also introducing buyers to two local Dutch films made and released by Studiocanal-owned Dutch FilmWorks, as part of its output deal with Netflix. Romantic comedy Out Of Luck, starring Ryan Brown alongside Abby Hoes, is about  a woman who loses her inheritance, her home and her relationship in one disastrous night.

Also on the slate is drama Running For Love, about a woman who signs herself and her daughters up for a marathon when her husband dies.

During Cannes, the team is also presenting buyers with first footage of horror thriller Amsterdamned 2 from cult director Dick Maas. Incredible is bringing Maas to the festival to speak with buyers and to introduce a sizzle reel. Splendid is already on board to distribute the film in the Netherlands and Germany but all other rights are available. The Dutch release is set for December.
