EXCLUSIVE: UK-based sales firm Taskovski Films has acquired world sales rights to Heat, the latest documentary from Swiss filmmaker Jacqueline Zund.
The film will have its world premiere on April 20 in the international competition at Switzerland’s Visions du Reel film festival.
Set in the Persian Gulf – one of the hottest regions in the world - Heat is a cinematic exploration of heat, considering its impact on character traits, economic dynamics, and social disparities.
It is produced by Louis Matare for Switzerland’s Lomotion AG, in co-production with Real Film GmbH.
“Heat offers a unique, human-centred perspective that will strongly connect with both festival audiences and international buyers,” said Irena Taskovski, head of acquisitions at Taskovski Films.
“Taskovski Films understands that a documentary is not only about portraying life, but about engaging with it, inviting audiences to step into someone’s perspective and grasp a piece of their experience of the world.”
Zund has previously directed documentaries including Goodnight Nobody, Almost There and Where We Belong. Her fiction debut Don’t Let The Sun launched in Locarno’s Filmmakers of the Present competition last year.
Visions du Reel 2026 runs from April 17-26.
