UK genre specialist Jinga Films has boarded sales on Patrick Rea’s They Wait In The Dark and Paul Wilkins’ The Ghost Writer ahead of the American Film Market (AFM, November 1-6).
They Wait In The Dark follows a mother and son on the run from an ex-partner who end up taking shelter in an old farmhouse where they’re protected by an evil spirit.
The supernatural horror is produced by US company Smart Mouth Productions and stars Sarah McGuire.
In The Ghost Writer, Luke Mably plays a struggling author who becomes haunted by demons after he plagiarises his late father’s novel. It’s produced by the UK’s Starfish Films. Wilkins previously directed 2011’s 7 Lives with Danny Dyer and Martin Compston.
Ahead of their AFM premiere, both films screened at UK horror festival FrightFest while The Ghost Writer also screened at Prague Independent Film Festival where Mably picked up best actor.
