‘Shepherd’

UK-based sales outfit Jinga Films has landed theatrical deals for Russell Owen’s supernatural thriller Shepherd.

The BFI London Film Festival premiere has sold to Lighthouse Home Entertainment for Germany and Austria, Nonstop Entertainment for Scandinavia and Rialto Distribution for Australia and New Zealand.

Karim Prince Tshibangu and Aslam Parvez of the UK’s Golden Crab Film Production produce in association with Russell Owen and Steve Orams of the UK’s Kindred Communications.

It was previously picked up by Parkland Pictures for the UK, Falcon Films for Middle East, Media4Fun for Poland and Saban Films for North America, where it will be theatrically released on May 6.

Tom Hughes stars as a young man who, grief-stricken by the death of his pregnant wife, takes a job as a shepherd on a remote island. Here he is faced with a vengeful spirit, who forces him to confront his own sanity. Kate Dickie, Greta Scacchi and Gaia Weiss also star.

Owen’s previous credits include zombie horror Patients Of A Saint and thriller Welcome To The Majority.
