EXCLUSIVE: New Europe Film Sales has picked up international sales for It’s All Going Very Well…, the directorial debut by Australian actress Tilda Cobham-Hervey in which she stars alongside Oscar-nominee Jonathan Pryce.
Cobham-Hervey is known for her roles in films such as biopics I Am Woman and Young Woman And The Sea. She directed short film A Field Guide to Being a 12-Year-Old Girl, winner of the Crystal Bear at Berlinale Generation KPlus in 2018.
Pryce was Oscar nominated for 2020’s Two Popes, and stars in Apple TV’s hit series Slow Horses.
It’s All Going Very Well… is a story of 30-year-old Audrey, who while still waiting to be seen as an artist, works in a care home where she’s built a strong bond with a charming pensioner named Harold. As he nears the end of his life, Audrey realises that preserving the memory of their friendship could become her most meaningful artistic act yet. Roxie Mohebbi and Chris Alosio also star.
It’s All Going Very Well… is produced by Liam Heyen of Australia’s Mad Ones Films and Oscar-nominated UK actor Dev Patel through his production company Minor Realm, alongside Cobham-Hervey, Jomon Thomas and Alexander Rodnyansky.
The film is produced in association with S’YA Concept, After Bark, Picture You Films, Local Delhi Productions, AR Content, Limestone Productions, GVKM Elephant Pictures, Spectrum Entertainment, and Trackdown Entertainment and financed with the support of Mind The Gap Film Finance. The DoP was by Andrew Commis (Babyteeth).
Cobham-Hervey said: “Having Jonathan Pryce join the cast of my first feature film still feels surreal. He is not only one of the great actors of our time, but an incredibly generous collaborator and a genuine champion of emerging filmmakers. Making this film with him, as well as the rest of my cast including Roxie Mohebbi and Chris Alosio, was a true joy. I am thrilled to be partnering with New Europe to bring this film into the world, and am so grateful for the care, trust, and respect they’ve shown me as a filmmaker.”
Producer Liam Heyen said: “Tilda has worn many hats during the making of It’s All Going Very Well… and worn them all very well indeed. At each stage of the process, she has led with immense creativity, professionalism, and an authored vision. It has been a privilege to help bring her directorial debut to life. We’re thrilled to have our new friends at New Europe Film Sales board the film and have already had such a wonderful time working alongside them as we prepare to share the film with audiences… soon!”
Jan Naszewski, New Europe’s CEO, said: “We fell in love with Tilda’s sweet and clever film, which, like its protagonist, marvels at the simple joys of life – friendship, love as well as making and experiencing art. It’s an ultimate smart feel-good film.”
Screen Australia Director of Narrative Content Louise Gough said: “Tilda’s debut feature film is deeply singular, heartfelt and gorgeously idiosyncratic. It is wryly Australian and globally resonant and we cannot wait for it to meet audiences here and around the world.”
The film will be ready sometime in 2026 but New Europe will discuss it with buyers already at this year’s European Film Market in Berlin, where it’s also presenting Dara Van Dusen’s A Prayer for the Dying in Perspectives competition, Faraz Shariat’s Prosecution in Panorama and Andrius Blaževičius’ Sundance winner How to Divorce During the War.
It’s All Going Very Well… is a Mad Ones Films and Minor Realm production. It has major production investment from Screen Australia, in association with the South Australian Film Corporation. It is financed with support from Screen NSW with the Adelaide Film Festival Investment Fund. Local distribution by is being handled by Kismet Movies.
