K5 International has picked up the international rights to rock drummer documentary Beware of Mr Baker and will take the award-winning film to Berlin’s European Film Market next week.

The agreement reunites the Munich-based sales outfit with producer Fisher Stevens, who K5 worked with on environmental doc The Cove.

Beware of Mr Baker focuses on the wild drummer for rock groups Cream and Blind Faith, Ginger Baker.

Directed by Jay Bulger and produced by Insurgent Media’s Andrew Karsh and Fisher Stevens, it explores Baker’s drug-induced self-destruction, constructed from hour of interviews and with the now reclusive 73 year-old and 3D-aniamted photography.

It also includes interviews with musicians Eric Clapton, Charlie Watts, Steve Winwood, Carlos Santana and Stewart Copeland.

The film won the SXSW Grand Jury Prize last year.

The deal was negotiated by Daniel Baur on behalf of K5 International and Steven C. Beer on behalf of Insurgent Media.
