‘Kingdom Come Deliverance II’

Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF) is to world premiere a cinematic cut of Warhorse Studios’ video game Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Cinematic Cut.

The action role-playing game was launched in February on platforms including PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and reportedly sold two million copies within two weeks of release.

Daniel Vávra and Petr Pekař, the creative director and cinematic director of Warhorse Studios, are credited as directors of the film.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Cinematic Cut is set in the Kingdom of Bohemia in 1403, when chaos has befallen the country. As invaders pillage the ungoverned land, Henry of Skalitz seeks revenge for his murdered family. A trusted servant of the rightful king’s allies, Henry is sent to escort Sir Hans Capon on a diplomatic mission. After they are ambushed and nearly killed, the two young men embark on a series of perilous adventures.

”We are honoured to be working together with world leaders in their field on this unique project, which represents an exceptionally original contribution to our long-standing goal of presenting powerful and gripping stories captured in a unique manner,” said KVIFF artistic director Karel Och.
