UK sales outfit Blue Finch Films has scored sales on director Beth de Araújo’s SXSW premiere, Soft & Quiet.
The debut feature from the Brazil-US filmmaker has sold in Scandinavia (NonStop Entertainment), Japan (New Select), Poland (Monolith Films) and the Middle East (Front Row).
As previously announced, Momentum Pictures will release the feature theatrically and on demand in North America and the UK from November 4.
Araújo also produced the thriller, alongside Saba Zerehi, Josh Peters, and Joshua Beirne-Golden. It is executive produced by Robina Riccitiello with Beatriz Sequeira and Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions.
The feature plays out in real time, across a single afternoon in the life of a schoolteacher as she encounters a woman from her past, triggering a volatile chain of events.
It stars Stefanie Estes, Olivia Luccardi, Eleanore Pienta, Dana Millican, Melissa Paulo, Jon Beavers and Cissy Ly.
