German producers Maren Ade, Jonas Dornbach and Janine Jackowski from Komplizen Film will be honoured with the Eurimages Co-Production Award at the upcoming European Film Awards, which are being held in Berlin on January 17.
Komplizen was founded by Ade and Jackowski in 2003, with Dornbach joining in 2010. Among Komplizen credits are Toni Erdmann (2016), A Fantastic Woman (2017), Spencer (2021) and Maria (2024).
Twenty films produced or co-produced by Komplizen Film have been supported by Eurimages, including The Whistlers by Corneliu Porumboiu, The Story Of My Wife by Ildikó Enyedi, About Dry Grasses by Nuri Bilge Ceylan, Corsage by Marie Kreutzer, and, most recently Sentimental Value by Joachim Trier and Yes by Nadav Lapid.
The European Film Academy presents the Eurimages International Co-Production Award in co-operation with Eurimages to acknowledge the role of co-productions in fostering international exchange.
Berlin-based Komplizen Film is a co-founding member of The Creatives, a federation of 10 international independent production companies that also includes the UK’s Good Chaos and Dutch outfit Lemming Film.
Ade, Dornbach and Jackowski will be honorary guests at the gala for the 38th European Film Awards.
