Cartuna has picked up North American rights to Dog Of God, the Latvian Oscar submission from Lauris Ābele and Raitis Ābele that just received its Spanish premiere at Sitges.
The distributor plans a 2026 theatrical release on the animated horror depicting a 17th century witch trial that uncovers a werewolf within a devout community. Ivo Briedis and Harijs Grundmanis co-wrote the screenplay. Producers are Kristele Pudane, Ābele, and Giovanni Labadessa.
Dog Of God premiered at Tribeca Festival and is produced by Tritone Studio and US-based Lumiere Lab. Media Move handles international sales.
Justyna Koronkiewicz of Media Move negotiated the deal on behalf of the filmmakers with James Belfer for Cartuna.
