
EXCLUSIVE: Budapest-based sales outfit Luminescence has boarded Randolph Zaini’s Indonesian horror film A Woman Called Mother.
The film is set to world premiere in official selection at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, which runs from September 18 to 25.
The film is being released theatrically in Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Cambodia and Thailand via Multivision Plus. Its Indonesian release date is set for September 25.
A Woman Called Mother is about the teenage girl who moves with her family to a new city for a fresh start after a difficult few years, but the demon following them will force them to confront their most primal fears.
The film was produced by leading Indonesian media executive Pak Raam Punjabi through his production company Multivision Plus.
Director Randolph Zaini credits include series Katarsis and Joko Anwar’s Nightmares and Daydreams.

Randolph is extremely talented director, and I wanted to be part of this movie as soon as I saw the first short teaser.
