Actress/filmmaker Nicole Garcia has kicked off production on her feature Milo (working title) which will star Marion Cotillard and Theodore Pellerin.

Alain Attal produces via Tresor Films, with Studiocanal co-producing, financing and handling international sales.

Cotillard plays a woman with a mysterious past who takes on a waitress job in a small southern French town to get closer to Milo (Pellerin), a young man working in a garage who seems oblivious to her existence. The film’s co-stars include Artus, Laure Calamy, Alexis Manenti, Anne Brochet, Eric Elmosnino and Charles Berling.

It is Garcia’s 10th feature as a writer/director. She reteams with Cotillard after directing her in From The Land Of The Moon, which premiered in Cannes Competition in 2016 and earned eight Cesar nominations.

It’s also a reunion with Attal, marking their fourth collaboration together after From The Land Of The Moon, 2010’s A View Of Love and 2006’s Charlie Says (Selon Charlie).

Canadian actor Pellerin’s recent credits include Pauline Loques’ Cannes Critics’ Week title Nino and Alex Russell’s Sundance premiere Lurker.

Filming on Milo has been underway in France’s Drôme region of France since the end of October, with the shoot moving to Paris for its final five weeks.

Studiocanal will release the film in France in 2026. Co-producers alongside Studiocanal are France 3 Cinema, Marcel Films and Artemis Productions, with the support of Canal+, Cine+, OCS and France Televisions.
