Award-winning writer-director to deliver fourth Directors Guild Peter Brook Lecture.

Mike Leigh is to give the fourth Directors Guild Peter Brook Lecture at the British Library on Nov 24. The public event gives leading directors a platform to address their craft, culture and history.

Leigh’s career spans 50 years and more than 50 productions in theatre, radio, television and film including BAFTA winners Vera Drake (2004) and Secrets & Lies (1996).

His next feature, due for release in 2014, is his JW Turner project, starring Timothy Spall as the 19th century landscape painter.
