
Neon has scheduled a December 11 North American release for Clarissa, the Mrs. Dalloway reimagining and second feature from Nigerian twin brother directors Arie and Chuko Esiri that premiered in Cannes Directors’ Fortnight.
Sophie Okonedo stars in the Nigeria-set drama as the titular socialite preparing to host a dinner party for her husband’s colleagues and her close friends.
The cast includes India Amarteifio, David Oyelowo, Ayo Edebiri, Toheeb Jimoh, and Fortune Nwafor.
Chuko Esiri adapted the screenplay and the producers are Per Capita Production’s Theresa Park, Invention Studio’s Nicholas Weinstock, and the Esiri brothers.
Neon’s slate includes Luca Guadagnino’s hot-button Sam Altman drama Artificial starring Andrew Garfield; Cristian Mungiu’s Palme d’Or winner Fjord, as well as James Gray’s Paper Tiger, Na Hong-jin’s Hope, and Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s All Of A Sudden – all of which also premiered in Cannes Competition; and William and David Greaves’s Once Upon A Time In Harlem.
