Obsession filmmaker Curry Barker, Mattel Studios’ Robbie Brenner and South Korean auteur Lee Chang-dong are among the speakers joining the lineup of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF): The Market summit.
They form part of the Visionaries and Dialogues programmes, set to take place from September 10-16.
Writer-director Barker will be joined in conversation by Obsession star Inde Navarrette, discussing the low-budget film’s journey from world premiere in TIFF’s 2025 Midnight Madness programme to global box office success of $458.4m as of July 27 for Focus Features/Universal.
Mattel Studios president and chief content officer Brenner will reflect on her career to date. She is an Oscar-nominated producer with credits including Barbie, Dallas Buyers Club and TIFF 2026 Special Presentation The Housewife.
Director Lee will discuss his naturalistic filmmaking style and the influence of his novel and playwriting as part of the summit. His latest film, Netflix’s Possible Love, plays at TIFF following a Venice premiere. It marks his first film since 2018 Cannes premiere Burning. He will also be presented with Toronto’s Ebert Director Tribute Award.
Slow Horses star Oldman – with the sixth season premiering at TIFF – and Killer Films’ founders Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler are also on the speaker lineup. They join previously announced speakers Pam Abdy and Mike De Luca, the Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group’s co-chairs and CEOs.
