The Last Heroes Of Rio Bravo

EXCLUSIVE: Los Angeles-based film sales, financing, and production company Prestige International Pictures has bulked up its AFM sales slate with Alexander Nevsky’s western The Last Heroes Of Rio Bravo, body horror Fifteen, and horror Experiment 11 from the creators of The Blair Witch Project.

Alexander Nevsky reprises his role in The Last Heroes Of Rio Bravo as Ivan Turchin, the mysterious Russian gunslinger turned sheriff forced to take on a ruthless outlaw gang that is holding a small western town hostage. The film is currently in production and Lorenzo Lamas, Nick Baillie, Olivier Gruner and Tatiana Neva round out the key cast.

Nevsky directs from a screenplay by Craig Hamann, and is producing for Hollywood Storm with Baillie for Bishop Road Productions. ETA Films’ Eric Brenner serves as executive producer. Nevsky’s directing credits include police thriller Black Rose in which he starred opposite Kristanna Loken.

“The Last Heroes Of Rio Bravo brings the trilogy to an epic conclusion with bigger action sequences and higher stakes for our hero,” Nevsky said. “Having worked with Carlos [Rincon, Prestige president] on the first two films, I’m pleased to continue our collaboration through Prestige.” Rincon added, “Alexander brings that stoic toughness and rugged screen presence reminiscent of Charles Bronson, which will deliver the kind of classic western action that audiences continue to enjoy.”

Fifteen premiered in SXSW Midnighters and follows a Mexican girl whose plans for her quinceañera celebration turn awry as she transforms into something monstrous. Jack Zagha and Yossy Zagha directed from a screenplay by Andrzej Rattinger and Ricardo Álvarez Canales.

Greta Martí stars alongside Macarena Oz, Aminta Ireta, Cloe Furlong and Mercedes Hernández, who recently appeared in Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Digger. The Zagha Brothers produced for Avanti Pictures alongside Elsa Reyes and Películas V’s Valentín Javier Diment and Vanesa Pagani.

Rincon brokered the deal for The Last Heroes Of Rio Bravo with Nevsky and with the Zagha Brothers for Fifteen.

Kevin Healey wrote and will direct Experiment 11, about participants in a consequential test in a medical research facility. Eduardo Sánchez and Gregg Hale serve as executive producers. Sanchez was writer-director on the 1999 independent horror smash The Blair Witch Project and Hale was a producer.

Prestige’s AFM slate includes survival thriller Avalanche Express, and action comedy The Holiday Hitman which Saban Films releases in the US.
