
EXCLUSIVE: Los Angeles-based sales, production and financing house Prestige International Pictures (PIP) is at EFM with international rights to the back-to-school comedy Re-Election which got a limited US release last year through Bob Berney’s Picturehouse.
Adam Saunders (Shimmer Lake) and Tony Danza (Don Jon) star in the story of a middle-aged under-achiever (Saunders) who, in an attempt to banish painful memories of losing the high school class election years ago, re-enrols to reclaim his mojo and run for class president again.
Saunders wrote and directed the comedy from Footprint Features and stars alongside Bex Taylor-Klaus (The Last Witch Hunter), Nathalie Kelley (The Fast And the Furious: Tokyo Drift), Patty Guggenheim (She-Hulk: Attorney At Law), Kym Whitley (Fist Fight), and Rizwan Manji (The Dictator).
Saunders produced with Erika Hampson and Mac Hendrickson and negotiated the deal with PIP president Carlos Rincon.
The company’s market lineup includes survival thriller Avalanche Express, teen fantasy horror Crom’s Fury, 2024 Fantasia and 2025 Bucheon sci-fi action Heavens: The Boy And His Robot, Kaniehtiio Horn’s female revenge thriller and 2024 Toronto International Film Festival selection Seeds, and Spanish comedy Diario, Mujer & Café.
