Anton Studios is joining producers’ group The Creatives as a partner and minority investor, providing access to equity financing.
The investment comes as The Creatives moves to a jointly owned holding structure in which the 17 producer-founders behind the nine production companies hold collective control across a combined slate. Creative decisions will stay with the individual producers.
The nine companies each retain their own name, team, leadership, culture and creative direction. Former Newen Studios/Studio TF1 chairman and CEO and Studiocanal Group COO Romain Bessi leads The Creatives group as CEO.
The Creatives was founded in 2021, and unites nine production companies: the UK’s Good Chaos, France’s Haut Et Court and Unité, the Netherlands’ Lemming Film, Norway’s Maipo, Germany’s Komplizen and Razor Film, Israel’s Spiro, and Masha from the US.
It aims to operate on an independent model, allowing for distinctive artistic work with financial sustainability. The nine companies collaborate on a project-by-project basis on co-production, financing, casting and post-production.
