BBC Films-backed feature will explore what happened to the seedy boss after The Office.

Ricky Gervais is to bring his most famous character, David Brent from BBC comedy series The Office, to the big screen.

Life on the Road will go into production next year, backed by BBC Films, and will explore what happened to the seedy boss after he left Wernham Hogg.

Currently in development, the feature will be filmed in a similar ‘mockumentary’ style to The Office, which ran for two series from 2001 and ended with two Christmas specials in 2003.
