The Rome Film Fest has added one extra day to its 2026 schedule and will now run from October 13-25.

The festival had been due to kick off on October 14 with opening film Il Rumore Delle Cose Nuove by Paolo Genovese.

This will now play a day earlier in Rome’s Grand Public section as part of the festival’s inaugural ceremony, hosted by the DJ and television and radio host Ema Stokholma.

Il Rumore Delle Cose Nuove follows three separate couples whose lives become intertwined by an unexpected event. It is produced by Lotus Production with Rai Cinema in collaboration with Disney+ and in association with Verve Pictures. 01 Distribution is releasing the title in Italy in November. Rai Cinema handles international sales.

The festival said in a statement that the additional day was added “in response to the increase in the number of films submitted over the course of the year, and acceptance of the many requests from independent film producers and distributors.”

The move was announced by president of the Fondazione Cinema per Roma, Salvatore Nastasi, and Rome Film Fest’s artistic director Paola Malanga.
