Rome’s MIA film and TV market has expanded its 2026 edition to take place in seven venues along the city’s historic Via Veneto and in Piazza Barberini and to launch a European Investment Hub.

Taking place from October 19-23, MIA has selected 104 projects from 43 countries to take part in MIA’s industry programmes, such as the Co-Production & Gap Financing Market and the Work-in-Progress sessions.

These will run alongside a programme of more than 40 conferences, talks and meetings featuring 85 international speakers.

The inaugural European Investment Hub aims to bring together private investors and institutions with producers.

Among the speakers are Christopher Woodrow, founder and chairman of Media Capital Technologies; Roeg Sutherland, co-head of media finance at CAA Media Finance; Celine Dornier, content executive at IPR.VC; Alexandra Lebret, partner at AXIO Capital’s Together Fund; and Silvia Laj, CEO of Coficiné.

There will also be presentations by speakers from the European Commission, European Investment Fund, Eurimages, and Italy’s CineRegio, Ministry of Culture and the Italian Trade Agency.

An in-conversation programme will include German director Edward Berger, Marco Bassetti, CEO of European production and distribution giant Banijay, and Jane Tranter, founder of UK producer Bad Wolf.

Additionally, the president of Italy’s APA producers association Chiara Sbarigia will present a report on Italian audiovisual production trends for 2025-2026.

This will be followed by a panel with Italian film and TV executives, including Rai Fiction director Maria Pia Ammirati, Netflix’s VP for Italian content Eleonora Andreatta, Medusa Film CEO Giampaolo Letta, Sky Studios Italy Emanuele Marchesi, Amazon Studios’ head of local originals southern Europe Nicole Morganti, Warner Bros. Discovery SVP head of content for Southern Europe Laura Carafoli.

Gaia Tridente, director of MIA, said: “This edition of MIA is built around a precise ambition: to read market transformations as they happen and translate them into concrete opportunities for the industry.”
