Chronovisor

Grasshopper Film has picked up North American rights to recent Rotterdam selection Chronovisor ahead of its North American premiere at New Directors/New Films in New York on April 10.

The debut feature from Kevin Walker and Jack Auen follows a reclusive academic living in New York’s Upper East Side who investigates an occult device that can reproduce visuals from any time in history on a TV screen.

As she researches the machine, the academic trawls New York City’s hidden libraries to the edge of a breakthrough and a breakdown. Anne-Laure Sellier, a professor of behavioural sciences at HEC Paris, makes her screen acting debut, and Jason Zuriff served as producer.

Grasshopper founder and president Ryan Krivoshey negotiated the deal with Cosmic Salon and hailed Chronovisor as “one of the most exciting and audacious American independent films I’ve seen in years”.

The distributor plans an early autumn theatrical debut followed by a streaming release.
