EXCLUSIVE: Yamas!, the debut feature of filmmakers Rufus Love and Harry Richards, has wrapped production following a three-week shoot on the Greek island of Evia.
The film is written by Love, and produced by Love and Richards for their UK company Headrush Films. A satirical comedy-drama, Yamas! sees a British family’s boozy holiday plunged into chaos by the discovery of a refugee living in the villa’s outhouse.
The cast consists of emerging UK talents, including Alanah Bloor from Disney+ series Sandokan, Elizabeth Hollingshead of Dune: Prophecy, Joseph Ollman, Ozioma Whenu of You and The Witcher, Paddy Echlin, and Love.
The independently-funded title is now in post. The Full Monty and Slumdog Millionaire writer Simon Beaufoy assisted in the film’s development process.
UK filmmaker Richards has previously directed shorts including Year 13, Glass People, Santi and Contact Hours, the latter of which was written by Love.
