‘February, Seven Days’

EXCLUSIVE: Ukrainian-German filmmaker Tatjana Moutchnik’s San Sebastian world premiere and feature debut February, Seven Days has been boarded for sales by the UK’s Reason8.

The German-Austrian-Spanish co-production will premiere this September in the New Directors section, and won the WIP Europa Industry Award and the WIP Europa grand prize at last year’s San Sebastian.

Two different notions of family identity clash when a man from the Ukrainian city of Odesa and his son visit his brother in Germany for the funeral of their mother, the day before the Ukraine war breaks out.

Serhii Korshykov, Volodymyr Holosniak, Maria Shtofa, Arsenii Markov, Moisej Bazijan and Daria Guitbout star.

Producers are Karoline Henkel, Jasper Mielke and Arto Sebastian for Germany’s Wood Water Films. Co-producers are Austria’s Wega Film and Spain’s Nephilim Producciones.

Moutchnik was born in Ukraine and grew up in Germany. Her directing credits include 2020 short Bear Hill Path, which played at Reykjavík International Film Festival and Kyiv International Film Festival.
