EXCLUSIVE: UK sales company Jinga Films has made sales on titles across its genre slate at Filmart.
Paul Boyd’s Scared To Death has sold to Rafaella Films in the Philippines, where it will have a day-and-date theatrical release with over 60 bookings already; and to Njuta for Scandinavia. The film had its US theatrical bow last weekend through Atlas Distribution Company in over 180 cinemas.
Jeico Castro Ferrari’s Panamanian crime thriller Fast Cash has sold to Kinolights for South Korea and Minerva for Italy; with Minerva also acquiring Amarsaikhan Balljinnyam’s No Way Back and Kevin Wayne’s Hellbilly Hollow.
Cinema Novo has picked up three Jinga titles for Portugal: Jose Maria Cicala’s The Dollmaker, Nemanja Ceranic’s Sword Of Vengeance and Michael Zaiko Hall’s Peter Five Eight.
Scared To Death stars Lin Shaye and horror regular Bill Moseley, and is about an ambitious film director who convinces her cast to hold a real séance inside an abandoned orphanage where mysterious deaths occurred decades ago.
Ferrari’s Fast Cash stars Andres Morales, Julio Chamorro and Nick Romano, in the story of a down-on-his-luck ex-convict who becomes a getaway driver in a dangerous bank heist.
“For horror films in Asia, the appetite has moved away from Japan and Korea and now lies in Southeast Asia, more specifically Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia and Vietnam,” said Jinga CEO Julian Richards.
