Awards hopeful Empire Of Light from Sam Mendes will get an exclusive US theatrical release on December 9, Searchlight Pictures said on Friday (July 15).
Olivia Colman, Colin Firth and Micheal Ward star in the story which takes place in an English seaside town in the early 1980s and reflects on human connection and the magic of cinema.
Pippa Harris and Mendes are producing Empire Of Light and the cast includes Tom Brooke, Tanya Moodie, Hannah Onslow, Crystal Clarke and Toby Jones.
Mendes reunites with his 1917 and Skyfall cinematographer Roger Deakins.
