‘Sentimental Value’, ‘Mickey 17’

The composers behind Sentimental Value, Mickey 17 and The Brutalist are among the second wave of nominees for the 25th edition of the World Soundtrack Awards (WSA).

The winners will be announced on October 15 at the WSA ceremony and concert, held during Film Fest Gent in Belgium.

Hania Rani (Sentimental Value), Jung Jae-il (Mickey 17) and Daniel Blumberg (The Brutalist) are all nominated in discovery of the year alongside Robin Carolan (Nosferatu) and Dave Metzger (Mufasa: The Lion King). Blumberg is also nominated in the previously announced film composer of the year category and won the Oscar for best original score back in March.

Vying for the public choice award is The Lord Of The Rings: The War Of The Rohirrim composer Stephen Gallagher and Reagan’s John Coda. They are up against David Cerquetti (Buio Come Il Cuore), Laetitia Pansanel-Garric (Hola Frida) and Amine Bouhafa (Ni Chaînes Ni Maîtres).

WSA also announced the nominations for the game music award and Belgian film composer of the year.
