The participants will attend the Slano Film Days event from June 16-20, where they will participate in workshops with established international professionals, and attend talks and screenings.
Bezinovic’s third feature Fiume o morte! received acclaim on the festival circuit last year, winning the Tiger award on debut at International Film Festival Rotterdam, playing at Melbourne, San Sebastian and IFFI, and receiving two nominations at the European Film Awards.
Other selected filmmakers for Slano include Serbia’s Stefan Dordevic, whose Wind, Talk To Me won the Heart of Sarajevo award for best film at last year’s Sarajevo Film Festival.
The seven actors include Montenegro’s Jelena V. Dukic, who debuted in TV series Breasts, and has since appeared in films including 2023’s Working Class Goes To Hell; and Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Dino Bajrovic, who appeared in Jasmila Zbanic’s Oscar-nominated Quo Vadis, Aida? and Ines Tanovic’s The Son.
The 2026 edition will be the third Slano Film Days. Last year’s event was attended by speakers including Ruben Ostlund, Steve Buscemi, Daniel Bruhl, Maura Delpero and Zbanic.
