Bo Bragason and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth

UK actors Bo Bragason and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth have signed to star as Zelda and Link in Wes Ball’s live-action video-game adaptation The Legend Of Zelda for Sony and Nintendo. 

Bragason is best known for the Disney+ series Renegade Nell and Sky Original comedy The Radleys.

Ainsworth recently starred alongside Bryan Cranston in Everything’s Going To Be Great and has further credits includeing Netflix’s The Haunting Of Bly Manor and  TV series Son Of A Critch.

The news was announced by Nintendo director Shigeru Miyamoto via the company’s official X page.

“This is Miyamoto. I am pleased to announce that for the live-action film of The Legend of Zelda, Zelda will be played by Bo Bragason-san, and Link by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth-san. I am very much looking forward to seeing both of them on the big screen,” the tweet read, alongside a picture of the two actors in costume. 

The Legend Of Zelda will be released by Sony on May 7, 2027.

The project was first announced in 2023 with Miyamoto and Avi Arad set to produce. T S Nowlin has written the screenplay.
