‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’

Columbia Pictures’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day has crossed $1bn at the worldwide box office in six days, becoming the second-fastest film ever to reach the milestone.

Only Avengers: Endgame has accomplished the feat in less time – five days back in April 2019.

As of Tuesday morning Brand New Day stood at $1.052bn, comprising $407m in North America, where the tentpole crossed $400m in four days, and according to Sony Pictures sources recorded an industry-high Monday.

Internationally Brand New Day has reached $645.8m and has opened top of the charts in all 66 markets across 82 territories. China leads the way on $132.9m, followed by the UK on $55.6m, and Mexico on $43.6m.

India has delivered $35.4m, France $31.4m, South Korea $28m, Brazil $27.7m, Australia $23.4m, Germany $22.5m, and Italy $20.7m.

The feature has broken all-time opening weekend records in France, India, Brazil, Spain, Peru, Colombia, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Chile, Turkey, Ecuador, Belgium, Portugal, Ukraine, South Africa, Kenya, and Mongolia. It also established regional opening weekend records across Latin America and the Middle East.

As previously reported, the hit scored the highest North American opening weekend of all time on $360m; became only the second release to gross more than $300m in opening weekend after Avengers: Endgame; and established the biggest Thursday preview gross, biggest opening day (Friday), and the second-biggest Saturday of all time.
