Spider-Man: Brand New Day is in pre-production at the UK’s Pinewood Studios for Sony and Marvel.
The fourth instalment in the Spider-Man franchise will begin shooting in August with location shooting reportedly taking place in Glasgow, according to The Herald. Screen has reached out to Sony for comment.
Destin Daniel Cretton is directing the feature with Amy Pascal producing alongside Marvel president Kevin Feig.
Tom Holland returns to star as Spider-Man with Zendaya and Jacob Batalon expected to return as well. Sadie Sink and Liza Colon-Zayas have also reportedly been cast.
The franchise’s last entry No Way Home grossed over $1.9bn since its release in December 2021, making it one of the highest-grossing films of all time.
Brand New Day marks the second Spider-Man film to shoot in the UK, following 2019’s Far From Home, while 2021’s No Way Home and 2017’s Homecoming both shot in Atlanta, Georgia, in the US.
Sony has pencilled July 31, 2026, as the release date for Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday is also filming in the UK right now, to be distributed worldwide by Disney.
