‘Time Travel Is Dangerous’

EXCLUSIVE: UK and US-based sales firm The Mise En Scène Company has boarded international sales rights on sci-fi comedy Time Travel Is Dangerous, narrated by Stephen Fry.

Mise En Scène will introduce the title to buyers at this week’s European Film Market (EFM, February 12-18).

Written and directed by Chris Reading in his solo feature debut, Time Travel Is Dangerous is produced by Anna-Elizabeth Shakespeare and Hillary Shakespeare of UK company Shakespeare Sisters, with Reading.

Brian Blessed, Johnny Vegas, Sophie Thompson, Jane Horrocks, and Tom Lenk lead the cast, with an appearance and music from comedian and musician Alex Horne of The Horne Section.

The film follows two friends with a vintage shop who stumble upon a working time machine, only for their meddling to fracture reality.

The film debuted at Trieste Science+Fiction Festival in late 2024, and was released in the UK and Ireland by the producers in March last year. Level 33 Entertainment has US rights.

“Anna-Elizabeth, Hillary, and Chris have tapped into the true spirit of British comedic storytelling in a wildly inventive and cinematic fashion,” said Mise En Scène CEO Paul Yates.

The film lines up on Mise En Scène’s EFM slate alongside Forelock starring David Krumholtz, and Billy Knight with Al Pacino and Charlie Heaton.
