The Wolf, The Fox & The Leopard

EXCLUSIVE: Fledgling distributor Sumerian Pictures has acquired North American rights to the 2025 Tribeca Festival selection and dystopian tale The Wolf, The Fox & The Leopard starring Jessica Reynolds from Kneecap.

David Verbeek directed the story of a feral young woman raised by wolves who gets captured and thrust into modern society, only to be rescued by a radical couple who isolate her on an abandoned oil rig. When the young woman uncovers the lies of her new “parents”, she is forced to stand on her own two feet and ultimately decide whether to integrate into society or return to the wild.

Reynolds was awarded the Bingham Ray New Talent Award for her lead role at the Galway Film Fleadh. The cast includes Maria Jung, Naomi Kawase, Lucas Lynggaard Tønnesen, Nicholas Pinnock, Elon Duffy, and San Shella.

Sumerian plans a nationwide theatrical release in February. The Wolf, The Fox & The Leopard is produced by Lemming Film, Deal Productions, Feline Films, Flash Forward Entertainment, Nukleus Film and Lemming Film Belgium. LevelK Films handles international sales.

Verbeek said “I’m thrilled to be teaming up with Sumerian to reintroduce the film to North American audiences after its premiere at Tribeca in New York. It has since journeyed from the Golden Horse Film Festival in Taiwan to Europe, and I’m very happy that its first release will be in the United States, where the film’s themes feel particularly urgent and relevant today.”

Rob Williams, president, content strategy for Sumerian Pictures, added: “The Wolf, The Fox & The Leopard is an ambitious and gorgeously-made film that defies convention, while remaining totally entertaining throughout.”

Williams negotiated the acquisition on behalf of Sumerian Pictures with Tine Klint at LevelK Films.
