‘There’s Still Tomorrow’

There’s Still Tomorrow director Paola Cortellesi is to chair the jury of the Progressive Cinema Competition, the competitive section of the Rome Film Fest, which takes place from October 15-26.

An actress and screenwriter as well as a director, Cortellesi returns to the festival following the success of There’s Still Tomorrow, which launched at Rome in 2023.

The film, which marked her debut as a director, won Rome’s special jury prize, audience award and best first feature award, and went on to become one of the biggest box office hits in the history of Italian cinema, grossing nearly €37m.

Recent jury chairs at Rome include Marjane Satrapi, Gael García Bernal and Pablo Trapero.

Cortellesi said: “This is a festival that over the years has built a strong and compelling identity, becoming a reference point for Italian and international cinema and to which I am bound by deep gratitude.”

Rome artistic director Paola Malanga said: “Paola Cortellesi is an artist of great sensibility and exceptional talent. We are certain that her attentive, profound and innovative perspective will constitute a splendid guarantee for all the films participating in the Competition of our twentieth edition.”
