The TIFF Primetime selection of international series brings Zach Baylin and Kate Susman’s crime drama Black Rabbit starring Jude Law and Jason Bateman as brothers, and Wayward, Netflix’s original Canadian thriller about a teen therapeutic facility from Mae Martin and Ryan Scott starring Martin, Sarah Gadon, and Toni Collette.
Six world premieres among a roster of 10 shows includes Pål Jackman and Åse Kathrin Vuolab’s Norwegian class drama A Sámi Wedding, and FX’s The Lowdown from Reservation Dogs creator Sterlin Harjo starring executive producer Ethan Hawke as a citizen journalist.
There are North American premieres of Italian maestro and TIFF Luminaries recipient Marco Bellocchio’s HBO series Portobello - The Fall Of Enzo Tortora, which world-premieres in Venice and tells of a TV host accused of belonging to the Camorra; and Balázs Lengyel’s Ottoman epic Rise Of The Raven produced by Robert Lantos.
