Timothee Chalamet and Selena Gomez will lead the voice cast of animation Not Alone, which Universal Pictures will release in cinemas worldwide from April 16, 2027.
Currently in production through Despicable Me and Minions studio Illumination, the voice cast also includes Rob Brydon, Diane Morgan, Jamie Demetriou, Brett Goldstein, Allison Janney and Lamorne Morris. Eric Guillon, Claire Dodgson and Jonathan Del Val will direct the film.
In his first voice role for animation, Chalamet plays Joe, an introverted rocket mechanic, with Gomez as Fran, an astro-botanist developing the world’s first-ever plant-fueled rocket. When brought together for the inaugural launch, sparks fly between them, but neither is adept at romance.
The film is produced by Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and executive produced by Joy Poirel, Richard Curtis and David Distenfeld.
The film was unveiled at Annecy International Animation Film Festival, where Illumination’s latest feature Minions & Monsters had its world premiere last night, and where Meledandri and Minions creator Pierre Coffin took part in a Q&A session today.
