EXCLUSIVE: Highly respected film publicist Charles McDonald has joined Emma McCorkell and Cheryl Mayer’s UK-based film publicity outfit Team PR.
McDonald is a well-known figure on the international festival circuit, including in recent years with PR firm International Rescue, which he ran with Manlin Sterner.
UK-based Team PR was founded in 2016 by experienced publicists McCorkell and Mayer, who both previously worked at UK outfit Organic. The company specialises in international film festival publicity and UK and international theatrical release campaigns.
“This is both a logical and an exciting development for all of us,” said McCorkell. “Charles’ depth of experience adds extra weight to our offering across festivals, UK and international work.”
McDonald has worked regularly with independent filmmakers such as Lynne Ramsay and Jim Jarmusch. “I will be working as I always have done, but with the bonus of a ready-made team to hand,” McDonald said.
McDonald has frequently collaborated with Team PR over the past two years. “I have enjoyed our recent collaborations and very much look forward to this new venture,” he added. “We are a great match, as we share the same attitude towards the work, strong relationships with filmmakers, deep experience, attention to detail and strategic thinking.”
The move is effective immediately. Team PR will also continue to work closely with Sterner, particularly for festivals.
