Jinga Films – the UK sales outfit specialising in genre titles – has launched its Vintage label at AFM, which will re-license cult favourite features for worldwide sales, with a focus on horror.
The first film on the slate is 1995 title Mute Witness, that stars Marina Zudna as a mute make-up artist working on a slasher movie who gets locked in the studio over-night and witnesses a brutal murder. Evan Richards and Alec Guinness also star.
Also on the label is Clive Barker’s 1986 monster movie Rawhead Rex, directed by George Pavlou, in which Tom Garron plays a farmer who must stop an ancient demon from its rampage of slaughter.
The third in the line-up is 1996 Welsh folk horror Darklands, directed by Julian Richards and starring Craig Fairbrass as a newspaper reporter lured into paganism. Filmmaker Richards is also director of Jinga Films.
The label expects to release three titles per year, for distribution through theatrical, streaming and home entertainment.
