‘Everytime’

EXCLUSIVE: Austrian filmmaker Sandra Wollner’s Everytime has been snapped up by several key territories after winning the top Un Certain Regard prize at Cannes Film Festival.

Charades has sold the film to Benelux (Cherry Pickers), Spain (Caramel), Italy (Wanted), Greece and Poland (Cinobo), the Baltics (Scanorama), Czech Republic and Slovakia (Artcam Film Distribution), Adriatics and Bulgaria (MCF), Taiwan (Hooray Films) and Indonesia (Falcon). New Story will release the film in France, Eksystent Distribution Filmverleih in Germany and Stadtkino Filmverleih in Austria.

The film is a psychological drama about a tragedy that brings a mother, daughter and teenage boy together for a trip to Tenerife for a family holiday that never happened, as they explore grief, loss, and their ability to blur time and reality.

Wollner wrote and directed the Austria-Germany co-production, which is produced by Austria’s Panama Film and Viktoria Stolpe of Germany’s The Barricades.

Charades is fresh off a robust Cannes slate that included 10 films across the festival’s selections, the best screenplay prize for Emmanuel Marre’s Competition title A Man Of His Time and the audience award for Clio Barnard’s I See Buildings Fall Like Lightning in Directors’ Fortnight.
